THE GARDEN AND THE GARDENERThe First Garden where Adam met his EveBecame a well know storyIn biblical proportions we read of all it’s gloryMy Garden lay unloved and lost for oh so many yearsAnd plants which once held such promiseNow drooped heads with dewy tearsUntil a Gardener passing by, saw it’s true potentialAnd with magic fingers and loving careCreated it, true and so essentialPlanting here, caring there, it wasn’t just a dutyGently coaxing and so revealing the lovely joy and beautyJust as a rose doth open to greet the morning sunTwas so the Garden did reveal its petals, it’s journey had begunAlas the Gardener couldn’t stay, his work it lay unfinishedAnd although the garden thrived aloneSome of its joy diminishedA fact all gardens need rain and sunAnd magic fingers tooThis Garden awaits the Gardener’s returnTo find the morning dewAlthough the Garden can thrive aloneIt needs a fire or twoTo keep the weeds from growingAnd to Stoke the fire throughThe Garden is a place to grow, to rest and play that’s trueOh Gardener please return once in awhileThis Garden awaits for you© Dawn Cockburn03.08.2022
