How do you relax?

I trained as a relaxation therapist as part of my growth as an all round therapist.  However there are times when I realise I have not applied my knowledge to myself.  A question of don’t do as I do, do what I say? 

When I realise this I take time to breath in for 7 counts, hold for 7 and exhale for 7. I place my right hand on my solar plexus and my left over my heart as I breathe.  I can do this sitting, but lying down is better.  8 close my eyes and watch the colours as they begin to form in front of my closed eyelids pulsating and returning.  I let go of everything else and go within.  I can only do this for between 10 to 20 minutes, I wish I could sustain it longer.  Sometimes I feel otherworldly when doing this and getting apprehensive about it have pulled myself back to the world.
