Dawn Loves Buttercups

Recently I have witnessed how nasty people can get when hiding behind a keyboard.

The result of America’s choice for President stirred a lot of comments from friends, cousins and also people who I do not know.

I do find it hard to understand how we have got to the stage where someone’s political beliefs or choices give another person to think they have the right not only to criticise and judge those choices, but to believe that they have the right to use nasty and foul language directed towards them simply because they voted in a certain way.  More, they make judgement upon people they don’t know at all or on a country they have never visited or lived in.

Social media is, on the whole, beneficial allowing us to explore the world without even leaving our house.  However the downside is toxic and even dangerous.

Just think of pre-internet days.  No one would dream of going up to a complete stranger, and begin to call them names because you believed they held the wrong political views. 

And so, I observed human nature over the last few days and found some people lacking in manners and understanding

My vote is my decision and I am not accountable to anyone.
